CANnONBALLING THROUGH EUROPE WITH THE NEW VOLVO S90
This was the type of project that comes along once in a lifetime - or perhaps even less often. To promote their new S90 flagship sedan and its’ semi-autonomous driving assistant, Volvo tapped journalists Alex Roy and Chris Cantle to attempt four cross country cannonball run drives.
Over the course of 3 weeks in Europe, in a support van armed with chicken nuggets, gummy worms and never ending Red Bull, we followed and documented Roy and Cantle’s journey every step of the way.
- From Kiruna, in the northern end of Sweden and home to the famous Ice Hotel, to the southern end of Sweden
- From Paris to Monaco via the historic Route Napoleon
- From Barcelona, Spain to Lisbon, Portugal
Then, after returning back home to the states, the final leg of their journey was a 50+ hour cross country drive from Key West, Florida straight to Seattle, Washington.
When we weren’t filming or driving, we gambled in Monte Carlo, watched a EuroCup soccer match in France, flew our drone over the Eiffel Tower, took a boat ride through Copenhagen on an off day, rode bikes along the beach in Barcelona and made a lifelong friend out of our Volvo support driver Anders.
